The renovation of the 1920s centre-hall colonial on Long Island, New York which Jane calls home and where she lives with her husband, led her to pursue Interior Design formally.  She completed training at the Metropolitan Institute of Design and now manages her own online decorating shop with a focus on vintage and antique pieces. Previous to this as a literature graduate she enjoyed a career in trade book publishing.

Having grown up in Sydney and Montreal and now settled in New York, Jane appreciates that creating and furnishing a home is an expression of one’s experience and sense of belonging.  Jane Carter Studio offers guidance, a discerning eye, and curated pieces that speak to a client’s story, culture, and comfort.
